I'm going a little backwards in time, but that's alright! The night before the Winter Art Sale was the Nu Perspectives Mural Opening at the Nu Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn. It was a lot of fun and I was super grateful to see my good friends come out and support! There was an open bar, snacks, and of course a ton of people to mingle with. By the end of the evening my friends and I were just hanging out in my room (406!) and chatting away. We ended up meeting this really cool couple who were on their honeymoon from Australia and all of us just went to dinner afterwards to celebrate.
I'm behind on blog posts, scratch that, I'm behind on life. If there's anything New York has taught me, it's to be careful what you wish for, because I've been busy for a long time now. Time to play a little catch up! November 14th was the Winter Art Sale at Trestle. I had a small drawing in the show which sold, so that was cool. I, along with the rest of the Trestle Gallery team, had to give a small speech about what I did for Trestle and speak a bit about why Trestle was so special to me. It was an easy thing to talk about, and surprisingly I didn't let my nerves get the best of me, and I even had a couple people tell me I my speech sounded great.
The most important part of the Winter Art Sale was the new patron program that Trestle has started. It's easy to now become a friend of Trestle and directly support the great art community in Gowanus. You should definitely become a friend if you have the means, or buy a class, we would greatly appreciate your help! The Holiday season is a great time to show some love.
